Comfortis Flea Control for Cats
Comfortis are beef flavored chewable tablets used for killing fleas found on cats. An effective flea treatment, Comfortis starts attacking adult fleas within 30 minutes of administration and destroys 100% fleas within 4 hours. To be administered on a monthly basis, these tablets kill fleas before they lay eggs. Its adulticidal activity persists throughout the month to reduce flea population and egg production.
How does it work?
Spinosad, the active ingredient in Comfortis is an insecticide with adulticidal properties. It causes hyper excitation of flea nervous system, paralyzes them and kills them. The continuous action of Spinosad results in elimination of new fleas and prevention of re-infestations by slowing down egg production. This way, a once-a-month administration of Comfortis chewable tablet destroys fleas and breaks its life cycle. Regular use of the treatment reduces flea population to a bare minimum.
- Spinosad dosage is given in accordance with the weight of the pet. Weigh your cat first. Choose the correct packing as per the weight of your cat. Check the dosage table for details.
- For best results, Comfortis chewable tablets should be given with food or after meal. If the pet resists taking the tablet directly, then open her mouth and place the tablet at the back of the tongue. If the pet avoids direct intake of the tablet then mix it with her food like other medicine.
