How does Profender Cat Dewormer work?
Profender for Small Cats & Kittens is formulated with two anthelmintic active ingredients:
- Emodepside: Targets the nervous system of intestinal worms such as roundworms and hookworms. It disrupts neuromuscular activity, causing paralysis and eventual death of the parasites.
- Praziquantel: Works against tapeworms by damaging their outer surface, causing them to detach from the intestinal wall and be naturally eliminated from the cat’s body.
After topical application, the solution is absorbed through the skin and distributed within the body, allowing the active ingredients to act systemically to eliminate worms. Each tube of Profender (2.2-5.5 lbs) delivers 7.5 mg emodepside and 30 mg praziquantel for effective worm control.
What to know before using Profender?
- Profender is for topical use only. Oral administration may lead to serious side effects.
- Cats should not be allowed to lick the application area for one hour after application or until dry.
- The safe use of Profender in breeding, pregnant, lactating, or heartworm-positive cats has not been evaluated.
