Droncit Wormer Tablets for Dogs
What is Droncit for Dogs?
Droncit 34 Canine Cestocide Tablets are formulated for easy and effective tapeworm deworming of dogs over 4 weeks of age. Available in an easy-to-dose oral tablet form, Droncit removes common tapeworms from the dog’s body effectively.
The tablets are indicated for the removal of various tapeworm species, including Dipylidium caninum, Taenia pisiformis, and Echinococcus granulosus and for the removal and control of Echinococcus multilocularis.
How does Droncit tapewormer work?
Droncit is formulated with praziquantel as its key ingredient. Praziquantel works by being absorbed and processed in the liver to kill tapeworms in the digestive tract. After treatment, the worms lose their ability to survive and are broken down and digested by the pet’s body. Hence, partially digestible segments are eliminated via feces.
Each Droncit tablet provides a dosage of 34 mg of praziquantel.
What to know before using Droncit tablets?
- The effectiveness of praziquantel is not affected by the presence or absence of food in the digestive tract; therefore, fasting is not recommended or necessary before treatment.
- Droncit (praziquantel tablets) has been tested in breeding and pregnant dogs. No adverse effects were noted in the studies, but it is recommended to consult a veterinarian prior to the treatment.
- Strict hygienic precautions should be taken when handling dogs or feces suspected of harboring tapeworms.
