Advantage Multi for Medium Dogs (Advocate) is a topical treatment that protects against fleas, worms, and heartworm disease in dogs and puppies at least 7 weeks of age and weighing between 9.1 lbs and 20 lbs.

When applied topically to the dog’s skin, this easy-to-administer spot-on prevents heartworm disease, treats circulating microfilariae, and kills adult fleas. The fast-acting treatment kills adult fleas and treats existing flea infestations, helping to break the flea life cycle and reduce the risk of reinfestations. It also treats and controls sarcoptic mange and intestinal parasite infections caused by hookworms, roundworms, and whipworms.

With its broad-spectrum formula and convenient monthly application, Advantage Multi Aqua is a reliable solution for safeguarding your medium dog from harmful external and internal parasites.

How does Advantage Multi for Dogs work?

Advantage Multi for Dogs contains two active ingredients:

Imidacloprid: Targets the nervous system of fleas, causing paralysis and death of adult fleas on contact. Fleas do not need to bite your dog to die.
Moxidectin: Absorbed through the dog’s skin and enters the bloodstream, where it works internally to prevent heartworm disease and treat intestinal worms.

After application, the solution spreads across the skin surface and hair coat, allowing imidacloprid to control fleas externally while moxidectin provides internal parasite protection. This dual-action formula helps protect dogs against both external parasites and internal worms with a single monthly treatment.

Each tube of Advantage Multi for dogs 9.1-20 lbs delivers 100 mg imidacloprid and 25 mg moxidectin for optimum effectiveness.

What to know before using Advantage Multi for Dogs?

The safety of Advantage Multi in breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs has not been established.
Advantage Multi is a topical treatment, and ingestion may lead to serious adverse reactions, including depression, incoordination, and muscle tremors.
Use with caution in Collies and other avermectin-sensitive dogs.

Directions

Allow your dog to stand in a comfortable position.
Twist the cap of the tube to break the seal and remove the cap.
Part the hair on the back between the shoulder blades to expose the skin.
Place the tip of the tube on the skin and squeeze out the entire contents.
For dogs weighing 20 lbs or less, apply the entire dose at one spot between the shoulder blades.
For dogs weighing more than 20 lbs, apply the contents at 3–4 spots along the backline from the base of the neck to the upper back.
Do not allow your dog to lick the application site for at least 30 minutes.
Keep other pets away from the treated dog until the application area is dry.

Do not administer Advantage Multi to puppies younger than 7 weeks of age.
Do not give to pets allergic to any of the ingredients.
Children and other pets should not touch or groom the treated pet until the application site is dry.
Do not let the treated dog lick the application site.
While applying, make sure you keep the pipette away from the pet’s eyes and face.
Wear gloves while treating the pet. After the treatment, wash hands and exposed skin with soap and lots of water.
Consult a vet before treating sick and weak pets.
Dogs of some breeds, like collies, including border collies, are sensitive to moxidectin. Consult your vet before using.
