How does CredelioPlus for Dogs work?

Credelio Plus by Elanco contains lotilaner and milbemycin oxime as its active ingredients.

Lotilaner is an ectoparasiticide that works by targeting the nervous system of fleas and ticks. It blocks specific receptors responsible for nerve signal transmission. This causes uncontrolled nerve activity in the parasites, leading to paralysis and death.

What to know before using CredelioPlus Chewable Tablets for Dogs?

• CredelioPlus contains lotilaner, a member of the isoxazoline class that has been associated with neurologic adverse reactions, including tremors, ataxia, and seizures in dogs with or without a history of seizures.
• CredelioPlus should be used with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurological reactions.
• Credelio Plus should not be used for breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs.
• As with other monthly heartworm preventatives, dogs should be tested for heartworm prior to commencing treatment with CredelioPlus. The use of CredelioPlus in heartworm-positive dogs has not been evaluated.
